Stratum:   15% inclusions: pottery, bone, some tile, small flecks of charcoal, small lenses of ash
Description:   Top slope of the context is uneven. The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   Context 6770 is a loose, greyish brown fill revealed by the excavation of rubbly fill 6763. This fill is located to the South of the "mini-wall" (= 6775) revealed by 6763, bounded on the East by NS wall 5431, on the West by NS wall 6765. The soil is nearly identical to the fill of 6759, but with far more pottery. Towards the bottom of the stratum, the amount of bone increased, as with context 6759. The bottom of 6770 = the bottom of 6759.
Among the pottery recovered from the context were fragments of an unusual pitcher with horned handles and ridged neck, a complete profile of a ww plain bowl, and a small oinochoe. The bone includes a lot of bird bones, some bovine, and part of a human skull, unfused. If context 6770 = context 6759, then this area, bounded by four walls, seems to have been used as a dump or rubbish bin of sorts.
