Stratum:   15% inclusions: small pebbles, some pottery, tiles
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is coarse sand.
Notes:   Context 6810 is a compact rectangular stratum of fill, located in the Northern segment of the area. We are excavating this context in order to clarify the relationships between the various strata to the South, between NS walls 6789 and 5561, and EW wall 5562. The soil of 6810 is compact, coarse sand, with 15% inclusions of small pebbles, tile, pottery, and some small flecks of calcium carbonate. In the Northern part of 6810, we have come down on a loose, soft soil with more inclusions. In the Southern part, the soil of 6810 continues. We have left a martry on the far Northern edge (in order to limit contamination -- see notes for context 6809). We have also left a martyr along the Western edge, for the wheelbarrow and because it is not clear where and what they excavated here in 2008.
At the end of 6810, we have uncovered a compact, reddish-brown layer, that has flecks of charcoal and calcium carbonate on the surface. This compact layer is identical to that revealed by the excavation of 6791, 6794, and 6803. This compact layer represents a distinct unified stratum.
