The soil color is dark greyish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt. | | Notes: | | 6921 is the fill of a robbing trench for a continuation of wall 6821. We had scraped the entire area north of pit 6840 and determined that this dark grayish brown soil was clearly distinct from a patch of light grey ash just to the north. When we finished excavation, the context had expanded. In addition, excavation of 6921 revealed a light grayish brown soil directly north (and in line with) wall 6821, a circular grey ashy area to the north of that, and a smaller rectilinear area cutting into the southern side of the ashy layer.
