The soil color is light brownish grey. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is well sorted. It is sandy silt. | | Notes: | | 6928 is an ashy u-shaped fill to the north of context 6927. We have hypothesized that this was either a dumping area for ash from burning activity around 6816 or an earlier ash pit cut by robbing trench 6927. At the bottom we have come upon more compact, reddish brown fill. The ash clearly continues under the fill of cut 6927 and the area directly south. We have found a lage circular rock/boulder at the northern edge of the pit.
