Description:   The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   After removing foundation trench fill (684), Thanasis identified a pit to N of foundation trench which cut foundation trench in small section on the pit's E end. Soil was darker in color than surrounding red clay to S and the clay/tile layer to the N excavated as context 697, which overlays this context. Excavation halted until clay/tile layer can be removed (context 697).
25 April 2012: After removing 697, we excavated the deposit below 692 together with the deposit beneath 697 (See 734). By this point, it was clear that 692 was not a discrete pit, but the upper level of fill for a cut bordered to the S by red clay just N of C687 and to the E by red clay sloping up to the well. The N extent of this cut is unclear.
