Description: | Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes: | 6935 is fill to the N of pithos 6881 in the room NW of the courtyard in the Byzantine house. The S side of this room had been excavated by our team (e.g., 6898, 6902, 6905, 6909, 69025, 6932) in conjunction with investigation of pithos 6519. The area N of 6881 remained at a higher elevation during these excavations and 6935 was opened to bring down this side of the room to the level of the S side (6932), and we are particularly interested in whether the levels N of 6881 can be equated to the laters S of 6881 *this may not be so likely, as wall 10111 bisects the room). This context was closed when we came down upon a deposit/pit of rocks in the south of the context, bordering a portion of the northern edge of the built pithos (6881). This area was last excavated in May 2009, so the soil has been exposed for as long as one year.
