This cut was recognized while digging context 6941; we came down upon 2 cuts - one for the foundation trench for wall 6130, truncated by pit 6116, and this cut, 6945, the foundation trench for wall 5562. The fill in these cuts (6947 and 6945) was lighter than that excavated in 6941, and the boundaries between the contexts was clear. The context was closed when we reached the bottom of the cut, characterized by a harder soil.
