| Description: | Top slope of the context is moderate down to the NE. The soil color is light yellowish red. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is well sorted. It is clayey sand. | |
| Notes: | Analysis of the section left by the foundation trenches previously excavated suggested that this was stratigraphically the latest layer stratigraphically. Excavation confirmed this, revealing a continuation of the ashy layer under 6948. The angle of the slope was consistent with this being the first of many layers of dumped fill. Synchronisation error caused loss of pottery data once already read; retyped from a print screen, but some details perhaps lost. | |
