Notes:   We opened 6953 after discovering that ash layers 6901, 6906, 6917, 6926, were Hellenistic and that we dug them before the most likely later material which will emerge from a possible cut pointed by Guy Sanders, running east-west in the center of the eastern most room to the western most room along the south side of the house. This possible cut could be for a wall along the Roman east west road. The cut was revealed to the south once 6901, 6906, and 6917 were excavated. 6953 is in the western center of Room B, cut by foundation trench 5779 to the west. We stopped upon hitting what appears to be a packed stones and hard packed soil.
