| Description: | Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is silty clay. | |
| Notes: | 6965 is a fill in the room NW of the courtyard in the Byzantine house. It was revealed during excavation of 6952, demarcated by a N-S cut line that truncated a packed earth floor to the W. Excavation proceeded, revealing some bone and noticeable amounts of charcoal. The context was closed upon reaching a change in soil color (more greyish/lighter). It is unclear if this is a foundation trench for wall 6321, as the slope of the sides of the cut is irregular and not like that of a typical foundation trench. | |
