Description:   Top slope of the context is uneven. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is moderately sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   We originally opened deposit 6967 in an attempt to find a foundation trench along the southern side of east-west wall 6120. We quickly found that there was no foundation trench and that the soil went from the southern face of wall 6120 and covered the middle stretch of the room, i.e. the posiible robing trench for the Roman wall, under 6888 and 6892. The context is quite deep. The northern scarp of 6967 shows that wall 6120 sits atop the ash layer with no foundation trench. 2 coins were found. We stopped upon hitting rocky cobbles to the west and a layer with less inclusions to the east. In the center of the trench a boulder was revealed. Also a small ashy soil mix sloped north in the center of the context under wall 6120.
