| Description: | Top slope of the context is slight down to the E. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty clay. | |
| Notes: | We opened context 6970 after our pickman, Thanasis, noticed a cut filled with brown soil along the south face of wall 5562, surrounded by a redder soil. It appears to be another foundation trench for wall 5562, although at this time it is unclear whether it is a new fill, or whether it is a continuation of fill 6957 in cut 6959 and has only narrowed toward the wall. Analysis of pottery may helpe resolve this issue. | |
