Stratum: | Inclusions 60%: large field stones, tiles, charcoal
Description: | The soil color is greyish red. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy clay.
Notes: | Tiles abounded in this reddish context, yet did not seem to be part of a fall, but rather a dump. Large field stones scattered throughout might be associated with the demise of 694. There was some evidence of burning, with charcoal present. This context follows the general trend of those surrounding 694 - randomly scattered trash, indicating either poor housekeeping or a deliberate use of this zone as a place to dump material, or both. Based upon the stratigraphy 699 should postdate wall 694.
