Description:		Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is well sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:		This layer extended the entire width and length of the area bounded by the tree, wall, and foundation trenches. It seemed slightly lighter than 6993, and contained much les pottery. The soil seemed similar to that in our previous area under 6887 et al. As we were approaching the level of the foundation trenches, we decided to close this area rather than obliterate the traes without time to continue deeper. NB a pottery join of an echinus bowl with 6993. Synchronisation error caused loss of pottery data once already read; retyped from a print screen, but some details perhaps lost.
