Stratum:   40% tile, small and medium angular pebbles and cobbles, bone, charcoal, roots.
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark reddish grey. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   7018 is the large area between walls 6789 and 6821, extending N to the scarp. It is a compact reddish soil with large tile inclusions. It is overlaid by several different contexts, including tile structure 7017 (see Harris matrix). We would like to clarify the relationship between the 2 walls, the robbing trench of wall 6821, and pit 6929. Excavation has continued on 21/5/10, and revealed a new line of stones abutting wall 5562 on the north and structure 6820 to the west. Just north of 6820 is a slightly depressed area ringed with tile (possibly a pit). North of ca 1042N is a sandy compact surface with few inclusions, which may be an external floor surface. Further north is an area of large broken tile. The relatively horizontal position of most of these tiles, along with some obvious pan and cover tiles suggests a roof collapse.
