Some fine pebble, mostly angular spherical. Lower down, a few angular spherical cobbles. | | Description: | | Top slope of the context is slight down to the NW. The soil color is light reddish brown. The soil compaction is hard. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt. | | Notes: | | This context is located in the W corner of the ‘pithos’ room of Room F E- half. On its N it abuts wall 5334, W wall 20, and the pithos to the N. This layer was the latest in date in this room. It was also excavated because it seems to form a compacted central area in the center of the room, along with the other trenches and the pithos pit. This appears to be the fill of a trench similar to those on the other sides of the central area of this room. Again, there is the possibility that these were drainage ditches for some agricultural production that went on in this area. The cut for this trench appears deeper, but the pick-man noticed a slight change in the compaction of the soil.
