Date:   2010/06/10
Stratum:   ceramic sherds, bone, rooftile frags, round subround and angular pebbles, ca. 70% inclusions.
Description:   The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is hard. The soil is well sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   This context is a deposit of multiple layers of pebble floors in the eastern portion of the room NE of the courtyard. Bounded on the N by wall 7040, it was truncated by the eastern foundation trench of wall 7040 and the foundation trench for wall 7200 on its NE and NW sides respectively. On the southern end of its eastern side, it was cut by the 1960's excavations. On the southern end of its western side it was cut by bothros 7189 and bothros 7147. It was also cut on its southern side, which will be taken out later. It appears that the earliest layers were cute by something in the southe and htat only a small amount of relayering recovered the northernmost 5 cm of this cut. Because we are taking out all these floor layers in one context (they cannot feasibly be removed seperately), this context unfortunately partially goes over the fill in the cut that truncated it.
This appears to be one flooring event that was laid on a reddish surface.
