Description: | The soil color is light brownish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes: | This is the further removal of a black and clay tile layer to the East of context 728. Coin #47 found in excavation (E: 259.70, N: 1009.98. El: 86.57). At end of context we sieved 6 buckets and had 2 buckets of pottery. Possibly the same as 724 and 728, with 728 filling a N-S robbing trench. At bottom of context, borders of contexts exposed by removal of this one (730) were clear. A patch of harder soil lay beneath it and to the N, sloping down to the SW from pier 573. A rough square of different hard soil W of large stone (See Top Plan) is another context - possibly remnants of foundation from robbed out wall running E-W. A red clay soil bordered it to the south, sloping down from S-N from the well (742 ).
