Collection:   Corinth
Type:   Basket
Name:   Nezi Field, context 748
Area:   Nezi Field
Title:   Clearing of triangular area SE of 430
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1106
Context:   748
Page:   0
Date:   2012/04/30
Stratum:   40% ceramic, bone, tessera, fine pebbles to cobbles, some rounded and some angular, spherical to tabular.
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the NE. The soil color is dark greyish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   After consulting with excavators from session 1, the first order of business was to remove a small triangle of deposit left over from previous digging. This triangle appears to be related to 741, or at least to abut it, and to approach the context into which 213 was dug.
23 May 2012: Group consensus: 748 is the equivalent of 741 and 782. All 3 deposits represent a 10th/11th npd fill in a roughly E-W line across much of the trench, ending at wall 540 in the west. 748 (11th npd) was partly laid on 808 (late 11th-early 12th), and these two together (748 and 808) may represent a slightly later lense of fill than 741=782 (10th npd).
