Corinth Basket: Nezi Field, context 750
Collection:   Corinth
Type:   Basket
Name:   Nezi Field, context 750
Area:   Nezi Field
Title:   Dark, soft area N of 741
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1106
Context:   750
Page:   0
Date:   2012/04/30
Lot:   Lot 2012-030
Stratum:   30% tile, bone, glass, iron (nail), shell, lots of roots especially in the easternmost portion, marble volute
Description:   Top slope of the context is moderate down to the E. The soil color is reddish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted.
Notes:   The softer, darker material along the North scarp of the Nezi area was taken out as 750. This deposit had a lot of tile, and a lot of roots and seems very disturbed, perhaps material that is slowly slumping down the scarp. In the West this area appears to terminate in a hard, redder layer that is very (much?) like the area immediately to the South, and which is similarly filled with amphora sherds with a distinctive, combed appearance.
