Description:   The soil color is light brownish black. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is silty clay.
Notes:   813 is the soft black fill immediately underneath 811. This context was called when it was determined that 811 came down on both a soft black soil and a hard-packed yellow fill.
In the north part of the context, we came down on some tree roots. Otherwise, the fill is consistently soft with a lot of pottery but few bones. The tiny roots that are spread throughout the majority of the context make the soil softer.

We stopped digging this context at the end of previous work week and we began the new week with a cleaning, 814. After the cleaning, new differentations between the fill layers immediately underneath 813 were quite visible.
