Description:   The soil color is light brownish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is mixed- see description.
Notes:   After cleaning context 962, our pickman saw an area of brown soil. We began to explore it, moving north to south. Some bone fragments turned up, and we decided to sieve 50%. Context finished when we came down on a compact brown deposit east of wall 540.
