| Description: | The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is hard. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt. | |
| Notes: | The "ridge" of hard compacted sediment exposed as an island partially overlaid by 978 is excavated as 998. A piece of worked marble (scroll of an Ionic capital?) is found. Also, a fragment of tesselated mosaic (white). The removal of 998 reveals a unitary deposit beneath connecting the areas previously exposed to the E and W of the "ridge". | |
