Notes:   This layer is an ancient patch for the mosaic. Green limestone was pulled from the circular patch in two layers. The top had roughly four pieces arranged to level the surface of the patch. There were 3 pieces underneath this top layer of tiles. Beneath the patch is a loose red soil. Around the limestone tiles was a layer of white-ish soil, compacted, which determined the outline of the patchf rom Context 12. The limestone was removed and saved for analysis. The red soil underneath the tiles showed a depression where it was at a lower level than the level of most of the red soil around it. This context (13) is the ancient mosaic patch near the arm and chest of the figure on the mosaic.
