We remove the wall. Thre are several fragments of pan tile from the layer of earth between the top course and the foundation course. From this layer are also several small chunks of concrete ( 1 collected in small finds) and a piece of wall plaster.
The cleaning of the top of the foundation course and the top of the earth on which the wesernmost block rested further demonstrates that these represent different builidng phases. We will excavate the foundation course (374) and the soil underlying the west (394) and as separate contexts.
