At this point we are not sure; the stones seem to go much deeper towards the northwest (they are visible in the scarp of 301), but further excavation is necessary for clarity. We are excavating the cobbles in layers-- the cobbles in 524 are highest, so we removed them first. Panos also thinks that the two surfaces-- the one below 520 and the one below 521--might be related to the wall and to each other.
