| Description: | Top slope of the context is slight down to the NW. The soil color is dark brownish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy silt. | |
| Notes: | after removing 575, the boundaries of the large ovular cut (in bedrock to SE and soil to NW) became clear. 575 was just below the line of this cut in the SE (ie inside it, but it spilled over the NW edge). The soil seemed the same, but the rocks seemed to become smaller. We decided to change contexts to be safe and open this context as 576 which is clearly within the bounds of the large cut. Several passes down in this context marios came down upon what appears to be another step of bedrock in the south. Panos stepped on the top step of vrachos and broke it-- it was weak because it was undercut. Soil ran under the undercut. | |
