Notes: | 09.25: During the sectioning of this room and in order to leave enough material for the fieldschool to extract without intruding into the unexcavated area, a portion of c.5cm was left from the line. Finally the amount of material extracted was very small so before proceeding with further excavations this remaining soil will be excavated as a cleaning context. Its main importance the saving of ceramic material, if this appears, in order to try joints with other contexts. 11.33: After debating with Sanders and Smotherman it was decided to close the area for the season. The excavation of the contexts described in 595 after leaving the necessary room for the martyrs would leave them as mere holes of c.10x10 cm in the ground. The excavation of the foundation trenches was also discarded due to time constrains. 1 bucket (16 l) of soil was removed during the cleaning of the profile. | |
