Title:   Fill in Robbing Trench 65
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1109
Context:   69
Date:   2015/05/21
Stratum:   205 medium cobbles, 30% bedrock coarse cobbles (gives the soil the reddish color)
Description:   Top slope of the context is even. The soil color is light reddish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   We opened this context after revealing the N-S and E-W foundation walls after excavation. This context was opened before excavation of the foundation trench immediately to the south in order to avoid any contamination of the foundation trench, though we are unsure if it is an extension of the foundation trench or if it's part of the robbing trench (context 65).
Excavation is revealing red/pink limestone at the lower levels of the context above the E-W wall blocks and below the level of the foundation trench. The bedrock is crumbly and is easily picked away. This gives the soil its reddish hue. Another fragment of the It. Sig. conspectus form 20 was also uncovered. A coin (el. 81.11) was also found on the northeast side of the context at the bottom of the context.
The bedrock revealed appears to be at approximately the same level as that exposed in context 66, and this is where excavation of this context stopped. There is thus a clear boundary on the north side for the N-S wall foundation trench.
