Notes:   The base of this cut is UNEVEN and does not fit well into the categories of the database.
This is the cut for th eoriginal foundaiton of the Greek wall 38. The cut is rectangular although it narrows slightly to the north, and is at its widest to the south. This cut is made into the surface 80, as well as bedrock the way that this FT cuts the bedrock makes the base uneven. To the north, the distance from the extant wall 38 and the bedrock is 0.06m, at the center, = -.12m, and to the south the distance is 0.16m. The top plan refers to the size and shape of the bedrock cuts. At the base of the cut, in between the bedrock and wall 38, there is a dark reddish brown soil.
This FT cuts a surface, 81, which was determined through the soil's firmness. We think this is the original FT cut due to an initial look at pottery from the fill. This FT could provide a good date for the south stoa for its original construction.
This cut was recognized due to its looser soil, and its reddish brown color. This was a very sharp boundary with 80 and 81. It is truncated by the RT 65, when the Romans removed part of wall 44.
