Description:   Top slope of the context is uneven. The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   This was a layer of mortar beneath a fill level (999). It overlays a tile threshold, which has been left in place. Once the mortar was removed a strip of tile and mortar is apparent on the east side of the threshold, possibly indicative of a door jamb. The mortar was white and cement looking though may also include lime. The tile layer sits on top of what looks like another mortar mixed fill level.
