Name:   Temple E, Southeast, context 108
Area:   Temple E, Southeast
Title:   Pit in courtyard
Notebook:   1108
Context:   108
Date:   2014/04/16
Description:   The context shape in plan is oval. The top break of the cut is sharp. The sides of the cut are mixed. The break at the base of the cut is sharp. The base of the cut is sloping to the east. Truncation: None.
Notes:   The cut for the pit is in the NE quadrant of the courtyard about 0.78m south of the south wall of Unit 2. It lies south of Rooms A and B, roughly south of that crosswall. It cuts into the reddish brown soil, which was uncovered throughout the north eastern part of the courtyard. The bottom of the cut extends below the reddish brown layer.
17/4/14:
After the removal of Deposit 115, which is cut by this pit, the majority of the cut had been removed.. The very bottom and only part of the sides remain suggesting that Cut 108 also cuts into the brownish black soil that lies throughout the eastern half of the courtyard.
Mixed sides: the east is vertical while the west is slightly stepped. This may also be the result of the excvation and that the higher side of the cut was overdug.
