Stratum:   4% coarse pebbles and pottery ceramics, and bone.
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. The soil color is light greyish grey. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is clay.
Notes:   We begin excavation of this context to investigate the layer of light gray clay revealed in 91 and 103. We associate this clay with the melt of part of the superstructure to which the rubble belongs. The clay of this deposit is very pure, unlike the surrouning soil which tends to be siltier. It can be seen within the matrix of the remaining stones of the rubble pile left after excavation of 118 west of the present deposit. On the east side, the clay seems to melt over to the area removed earlier by Colin Whiting. After 0.20-0.25m of excvaation, we begin to come down upon stones on the same level as the wall popping out of north scarp (structure 135). The clay we thought would run west into the rubble pile does not. This appears to be a different clay, more yellow than that above which runs to west. The gray clay of this context did run to the east, whoever, and its removal revealed stones in no partuclar order which appears to the part of a rubble pile. We stop excavation to explore more of this yellow clay.
