Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1108
Context:   223
Date:   2014/05/07
Stratum:   50% of rounded, sub-rounded, and angular coarse pebbles and cobbles; ceramics; glass; iron fragments; bones
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is well sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   We continued excavating to the W side of the drain in order to investigate the continuation of the road that was revealed by the removal of deposit 219. The removal of 223 revealed a surface of a flat road which seemed to have been modified by the repair that we hypothesized for deposit 217. This repair seems to have been responsible for the difference in appearance between this section of the road and its continuation to the north. Although the two sections belong to the same surface of road, they have a noticeably different percentage of inclusions.
