Corinth Basket: Temple E, Southeast, context 224
Collection:   Corinth
Type:   Basket
Name:   Temple E, Southeast, context 224
Area:   Temple E, Southeast
Title:   Fill of small pit, Room 7
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1108
Context:   224
Date:   2014/05/07
Stratum:   Two large limestone subrounded rocks sat adjacent to each other at top of deposit. Lots of animal bone and charred remains.
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark yellowish red. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy clay.
Notes:   This small deposit was marked by a circular discoloration in the soil (an almost orange-like hue), along with two well-rounded rocks. The deposit was easily cleared, making a small pit. Inside, many animal bones were found, along with charred remains. We thus had all of the deposit sent to floatation. The deposit's relationship to the surrounding floor surfaces is not the clearest. It appears, though, that 224 cuts into what is lying below (this cut is marked by 227).
