Corinth Basket: Temple E, Southeast, context 237
Collection:   Corinth
Type:   Basket
Name:   Temple E, Southeast, context 237
Area:   Temple E, Southeast
Title:   Fill in SW corner of room 7
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1108
Context:   237
Date:   2014/05/09
Stratum:   10% inclusions, comprised mainly of bone and a few sherds.
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark greyish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   After the pass of 233, we noticed in the southeast corner that the fill was firmer than 233, so a new context was opened. A quick pass was made through 237 - and not much was found in terms of materials.
It is interesting that the deposit is immediately against WC 157. It is possible that this deposit is associated with WC 157, but it is unclear if there is a direct relationship with the two, especially given that this deposit (237) is so shallow. While this was harder than the surrounding deposit (233), they might be more directly elated.
It is possible that 237 abuts Wall 157. Thus, it is also possible that 237 is actually associated with some sort of depositional event related to Wall 157 itself.
