Title: | Cut of hearth | |
Notebook: | 1108 | |
Context: | 275 | |
Date: | 2014/05/13 | |
Description: | The context shape in plan is sub-rectangular. The top break of the cut is sharp. The sides of the cut are stepped. The break at the base of the cut is gradual. The base of the cut is tapered rounded point.
Notes: | On the N sid eof what is believed to be a hearth (associated with the fill of 26), the edge is sloped down from the surface--it's gradual, as if it has been slightly dug down--perhaps for the hearth (given the great deal of organic material coming out of 263). We could not trace the south side of the cut, since it was overdug in excavation. The cut, though, does seem to abut the chunky fill of 274.
