| Notes: | CONTEXT NUMBER ASSIGNED BY LFK IN SESSION 2, EXCAVATED DURING SESSION 1 Later notes, 13/5/14, LFK: This skull was discovered as part of a pile of secondary, disarticulated human remains laid on the legs and next to the primary inhumation (BL 2014-04, skeleton 121) in Grave 2014-04 just east of the church threshold. The majority of this pile was removed during excavation in session 1. I decided during session 2 that each distinct individual, as represented by the skull, should be recorded separately as well as articulated remains and this record is therefore reconstructed from photographs and the information provided by the session 1 excavators. According to these records, this skull was broken when discovered, rather than during excavation, possibly as a resul tof the careless nature of the secondary deposition of these disarticulated remains. Association with other disarticulated remains unclear. | |
