Name:   Temple E, Southeast, context 296
Area:   Temple E, Southeast
Title:   Cut of Chunky fill, Room 7
Notebook:   1108
Context:   296
Date:   2014/05/15
Description:   The context shape in plan is irregular". The top break of the cut is gradual. The sides of the cut are mixed. The break at the base of the cut is gradual. The base of the cut is sloping. Truncation: Perhaps by wall context 159.
Notes:   At the completion of 274, the cut of the pit was clearly irregular. On the northern side, the cut is a gradual slope down (associated with the hearth excavated there previously, context 263). On the northwest corner, the cut is vertical. On the southern edge of the trench, the slope is very gradual, perhaps related to the harder deposits found on the edge of the trench.
The suggestion has been made that perhaps the cut is truncated by wall context 157, which was constructed atop and through portions of fill 279.
At the ene dof the end of the season, it was understood that Wall 157 cut into 274 (with Cut 410). Also, there is a possibility that the fill of 274 could thus continue into the adjacent area of Room 8 (on the E side of Wall 157).
