Type:   Basket
Name:   Temple E, Southeast, context 343
Area:   Temple E, Southeast
Title:   Clayey fill in Corridor
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1108
Context:   343
Date:   2014/05/19
Stratum:   50% inclusions of fine and coarse sub-rounded pebbles
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey sand.
Notes:   Deposit 343 is a clayey fill on the surface of the corridor. During excavation, the fill is coming off in chunks, as the deposit is being traced to the E. The clayey nature of the fill is probably lending itself to how it is pulling up like this.
The fill was traced to the W until the deposit stopped being the same clayey fill. On the western edge, it appears that a possible pebbled surface is coming up. Once the deposit levelled off, we closed the context.
It is difficult to understand the fills that are happening in the corridor up until this point (especially today's deposits of 327, 285, and 348). However, they might all be deposited or dumped onto a surface that might be coming up with the pebbled surface popping up in the pass we made through 343.
