Name:   Temple E, Southeast, context 345
Area:   Temple E, Southeast
Title:   Courtyard surface
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1108
Context:   345
Date:   2014/05/19
Stratum:   30% of rounded, sub-rounded, and spherical medium and coarse pebbles; rounded and sub-rounded cobbles, tiles, ceramics, and bones
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the W. The soil color is light brownish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   We started excavating the surface around the bell-shaped pit (cut 80), which seems to overlie the reddish surface which was unearthed by removal 330. We hope that the removal of surface 345 will reveal the cut for the bell-shapedstorage pit and help us date its construction. The removal of 345 revealed the robbing trench of the south wall of Unit 2, Room A, which is the north boundary of the courtyard, and the foundation trench for Wall 310. Moreover, two post-holes appeared, one in the south part of the context, one in the north part. Unfortunately, we didn't reveal the cut for the construction of the bell-shaped storage pit (cut 80). The removal of surface 345 revealed a reddish surface mixed with tiles. It is possible that this reddish surface can be associated with the reddish surface, which has been revealed by the removal 330. Future investigations will test our hypothesis.
