Title:   Trench E of wall below floor in room A
Notebook:   1108
Context:   452
Date:   2014/06/05
Description:   The context shape in plan is linear. The top break of the cut is sharp. The sides of the cut are vertical. The break at the base of the cut is sharp. The base of the cut is flat.
Notes:   Cut 452 is a linear trench running ca. 0.3 m E of the wall below the tile paved floor in unit 2 room A (wall context 453). The line of this trench was revealed by the removal of the levelling fill 447. The trench appears to be too wide for a foundation trench for wall 453 amd does not seem to have an answering cut on the W side of the wall, though it is possible that such a cut could be obscured by the tile paving that has not been lifted to the west of ca.103 E, but this seems unlikely. It is not clear what the purpose of the trench could be. The trench continues northward below the tiles left in situ.
