Context:   481
Date:   2014/06/06
Notes:   While our goal is to date the church S of this corridor, is necessary to remove this burial in the process of pursuing that date. The burial has been truncated at its W end by cut 403, and on its S end abutsthe robbing trench of wall 20. A large rock within the grae has forced the skeleton's knees to point toward the grave cutting's S side. There is a lar piece of tile lining preserved near the skull. There is also a lar piece of metalnear the pelvis.
Near the skull there is also a femur that does not belong to this skeleton. There were also bones found in grave fill 448.
Heel to crown length was measured in 3 parts in order to correct for body positioning (bent knees).
This skeleton was adorned with a thin iron belt worn around the waist (pelvis). The bottom elevation for this belt (its central resting point) was E 125.11, N1075.72, H84.42.
The combination of the aforementioned iron belt, as well as a small iron star found in grave fill deposit context 448 (inventoried as MF 2014 48), and the relatively good dental condition for this skeleton suggest that the woman buried within grave 2014-09 enjoyed a social position of at least modest means within her community.
