Stratum:   fine to coarse pebbles, sub-rounded to angular (40-70%), ceramics (20%)
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   This context is south of the Ottoman Pit and is more than likely a leveling fill benath a floor. The fill was cut by context 486. We expect to find more of the wall that is extending south from the scarp. Many sub-rounded limestone cobbles appeared in the western portion of the fill, still assumed to be associated with the western wall. These stones occur about 2cm below the sruface of this context. Angular schist fragment with cultural modification (i.e., grooving) was found in the southwest corner. The rest of the wall continues until it is truncated by the pit (context 487). Sediment within this context began to increase in hue (reddish), and a discovery of a wall with a lightly cemented, light reddish brown horizon caused us to close this context.
