Title:   Fill of small depression N of wall 558
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1108
Context:   551
Date:   2014/06/16
Stratum:   2% small subangular pebbles, bone
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   This is the fill of a small depression whose contours were revealed by the removal of deposit 550, a reddish, relatiely inclusion-free layer spanning most of this area (Unit 2, Room 2) Because this fill closely resembes the fill of context 550, these contexts are probably contemporary.
This fill just turned out to be a tiny patch, lacking a deliberate cut. This depression slightly depressed us. It is important to note that no pottery came out of this little depression, so we have dated it based on the pottery from 550
We will next move on to excavating the fill of the large pit at the center of Unit 2, Room 2, whose cut has just been revealed by the excavation of context 550.
