Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1108
Context:   580
Date:   2014/06/20
Stratum:   angular coarse pebbles (marble chips) (70%)
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the N. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   This context was revealed by the removal of deposits 578 and 572. The fill is predominantly coarse marble chips. This likely indicates some marble working activity in the area, probably associated with the construction of the building. In the fill was a piece of marble with a moulding (22cm L), that seems to come from the same structure as the moulding from deposit 578. This deposit appears to continue under wall 135. We removed a total of 67.9kg of marble chips in this deposit.
Animal bones, 0.05 kg, thrown.
