WAB Arrived on-site today, and Kostas was already excavating the possible grave. A humerus (right?) had aapeared to the west of (and in alignment with) the femur sticking out into grave 2014-09 at an awkward angle. It seems that we are dealing with the first newly discovered grave of the season. I told the workmen to sieve the remainder of the fill. Two small (c. 10 cm. length) stones, which Thanassis called marble but which may be schist instead, came from the upper fill. They have been sent with the pottery to be washed.. A coin (#18) was found at the bottom of context 601, very near the boundary with the fill of Grave 2015-1, on 2015.04.22, midday. 02/06/2015 (L Kennedy): Animal bones: extremely mixed, with isolated fragments of Sus, bovid, and sheep/goat, 0.44 kg, all thrown. | |
