Context Type:   Deposit
Title:   Floor (?) associated with Structure 11.
Notebook:   1108
Context:   62
Date:   2014/04/11
Stratum:   2% pebbles and pottery
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is very soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   This patch had been determined to be distinct from the floor that borders it on the north and west sides. It was removed to clarify the stratigraphy of the floor to the west and structure 11, as well as its foundation. On the northern side, we come down on a layer of clay, distinguished from the dry silt of the patch. Excavation was stopped after this was determined to be a floor and the rest of the patch which begins at the corner of the scarp. It extends to the south along the scarp and was determined to be a different context because the edge of the floord was foundat the corner of the scarp. After excavation it is clear that this patch is the saem context 11, despite the inconsistency in its compaction, which was the reason why we stopped excavation of 43. After this identification, it becomes clear that the surface (context 62) and the clayey layer that overlays it were both truncated along their entire east side by the foundation trench for structure 11.
