Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the E. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is moderately sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   (KTT) ca. 10:45: After removing Context 649, we removed this context, Context 650. Context 650 seems to predate context 649 as 649 seems to have filled in around it, though not over it.
After removing Context 649, Context 650 was left as a "lump" which we decided to remove next. The context continued deeper than expected, probably representing a pit.
(ERA) 11:05: The bottom of the pit was reached. It was clearly cut on the red clay surface with flat bottom. A first hypothesis is that this was partially excavated and the edges removed in 1992. Thus, the relationship between 649 and 650 was so difficult to address: 649 was part of the edge of the deposit but since it was isolated from the rest of the excavated area it seemed to be overlapping the fill that constitutes 650.
