706 is the foundation trench of the N. wall of the room (wall 700). Its bottom has a moderate slope down to the west. The foundation trench cuts the pebbly surface that covers the eastern half of the room, as does the foundation trench for the E wall - 659 (context 672). 706 goes deeper than 672 and had three coins in it. The date of the coins is Frankish, all 1250-1278.
